Afren appoints Alan Linn as new CEO

Afren, the cash-troubled Africa-focused explorer, has appointed Alan Linn as its chief executive officer following the sacking last year of Osman Shahenshah for fraud

The former Afren CEO, Osman Shahenshah, was fired in October along with several other executives following evidence of fraudulent payments.

Afren confirms that Alan Linn, former Roc Oil head, is currently acting as a consultant to the board of directors and that it is has agreed in principle for Linn to be appointed as Afren’s new CEO and a director of the company with effect from completion of the interim funding (as announced on 13 March and 1 April 2015), which is expected to occur imminently.
