UK-Russia tech partnership to service Russian, Arctic exploration
Oil and gas technology providers Ikon Science of the UK and PetroTrace Global of Russia have banded together to provide geological reservoir analysis technologies for oil and gas sector, Ikon Science said in a statement on Wednesday. The move could potentially improve drilling operations in Russia and the Arctic.
“After recent successful entries to Brazil and Indonesia we now intend to help open up new frontiers such as the Arctic waters as well as apply integrated rock physics driven reservoir analysis to improve recovery in known hydrocarbon basins such as Western Siberia,” said Ikon Science CEO Martyn Hargrave.
The partnership combines PetroTrace’s depth processing abilities and Ikon Science’s reservoir focused rock physics and inversion solutions, the UK tech provider said. Both firms aim to address the demand for improved pore pressure prediction in Russia’s Yamal region and along the Arctic’s exploration frontiers.
Ikon Science is a provider of software and services in the upstream oil and gas industry.
PetroTrace Global provides integrated field studies to the global oil and gas industry. It uses and develops geophysical technology to address geoscience issues.
