Rosneft subsidiary Nizhnevartovsk oil and gas producing company has started commercial drilling on South-Uzunsky licensed site situated in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District-Yugra

Two drilled wells provided average daily flow rate of 50 tons each. It is planned to drill 12 recovery wells, five service wells and a prospect well at the South-Uzunsky licensed site.

On this site a programme of research works is being implemented, which is aimed to examine the quality of reserves, formation productivity, and properties of formation fluid. Further production plans will be compiled following analyses of this data. The prospect well will be drilled to provide further geophysical data, with core sampling and subsurface fluid sampling.

The Uzunskoye field was discovered in 1996. Nizhnevartovsk oil and gas producing company (JSC) has possessed a licence for exploitation of the South-Uzunsky licensed site’s resources since 2013. Recoverable reserves of the Uzunskoye field within the bounds of the South-Uzunsky licensed site total more than 1.5 million tons of oil.

Nizhnevartovsk oil and gas producing company is a part of the structure of Rosneft and develops six fields: Permyakovskoye, Khokhryakovskoye, Koshilskoye, Kolik-Yoganskoye, Malosiktorskoye, and East- Kolik-Yoganskoye fields, situated in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District.

Moreover, Nizhnevartovsk oil and gas producing company renders operator service in exploration and development of another six fields. The cumulative oil production of Nizhnevartovsk oil and gas producing company since 1999 totals 129 million tons.
