Petrobras has further confirmed its 2013 Farfan discovery of light oil and gas in the ultr-deepwater Sergipe Basin with a third appraisal well
This accumulation is part of the exploratory project in the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin

The well (called 3-SES-186 by Petrobras) has found an additional 68 metre column of light oil in a new shallower reservoir.

Located 103 kilometres from the city of Aracaju and 10 kilometres from the initial discovery well, the new appraisal well is in a water depth of 2,467 metres. Petrobras is still drilling the well to achieve the ultimate goal of 6,060 metres.

Petrobras, operator of the consortium (60 per cent) in partnership with IBV-BRAZIL (40 per cent), will continue the Discovery Assessment Plan (PAD), as approved by the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).
