GE bags USD 500m deal from Petrobras

Brazilian oil and gas giant Petrobras has awarded General Electric (GE) Oil & Gas a contract worth over USD 500m for the supply of technology to spur pre-salt deep-water oil production in the Santos Basin.
The technology will serve the four new floating, production, storage and offloading units (FPSOs) operating in the Santos Basin’s Cessão Onerosa region off São Paulo.
GE Oil & Gas will provide the gas turbines and electric generators necessary to generate the main source of energy of the FPSOs. Gas will move through pipelines using compressors and re-injecting CO2 and natural gas back to the well to enhance oil recovery.
The technology includes 16 powergen turbogenerators composed of PGT25+ gas turbines and electric generators, eight turbocompression trains powered by LM2500+ gas turbines and 32 electric motor driven compressors for gas main, export services and CO2 reinjection.
