The Lewek Constellation, an ice-classed, multi-lay offshore construction vessel with ultra-deepwater pipe laying and heavy lift capabilities is EMAS AMC’s flagship project-enabling asset.

The Lewek Constellation was initially conceptualised in 2009 and her hull was successfully launched in 2012. She measures 178.27 metres by 46.0 metres, and is designed to deliver complex projects in a safe, efficient and reliable manner in water depths exceeding 3,000 metres.

Additionally, the Lewek Constellation is only one of two vessels in the world in her class achieving the highest environmental and comfort notations, with an ice-classed hull capable of transiting through 0.8 metres of ice and a technologically advanced DP3 system.

She also comes equipped with an 800 mT Huisman multi-lay system that is able to support both rigid and non-rigid pipelines, a 3000 mT Huisman offshore heavy lift crane, two Schilling workclass remotely operated vehicles (WROVs) and a unique portable reel system which significantly reduces mobilisation time.

“I am proud that our flagship vessel, Lewek Constellation has now achieved her final milestone before she becomes fully operational upon arrival in the Gulf of Mexico in April 2015. From initial concept and project management to operational delivery, Lewek Constellation represents a truly united effort by our dedicated global team,” said Lionel Lee, Ezra’s Group CEO and managing director.

“I would like to thank the many hard-working and committed people within EMAS AMC, TRIYARDS and Huisman who have made this achievement possible. In addition, I would also like to express my deepest appreciation to Noble Energy, for contracting the Lewek Constellation to execute her inaugural pipe lay projects and for their partnership contribution on this memorable journey.” added Lee.
