AMEC, a UK-headquartered international engineering and project management firm, has been presented with a renewed £255 five-year contract with the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC).

The company will provide project management consultancy services for a range of upstream projects based in Kuwait.

Awarded with a "call-off" contract, AMEC won the deal with KOC as a result of their previous two collaborations with KOC since 2004

I am delighted that KOC has recognised our excellent performance over the last 10 years with the award of this significant contract,” commented Alan Armstrong, AMEC’s Operations Director in Kuwait.

He added that the "contract is a significant continuation of AMEC’s work in the Middle East and is further evidence of our success in this strategically important region.”

The new contract will involve AMEC providing the same services that it had done in former deals with the KOC, such as front end engineering design (FEED), Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services, engineering, construction management and training of Kuwaiti engineers.

The production will be managed by a team of 250 AMEC engineers in Kuwait, while FEED execution will be provided by AMEC's design office in London.
