Technip bags two ultra-deep water contracts from Petrobras
Technip will supply approximately 100 km of flexible pipes for oil production, gas lift and gas injection

Technip, the global engineering and construction company, on Monday announced it was awarded two ultra-deep water pipeline installation contracts by Petrobras to push oil and gas development at two fields located in the Santos Basin pre-salt area.

The contracts cover the supply of approximately 100 km of flexible pipes for oil production, gas lift and gas injection at the Sapinhoá Norte field and I5 at Lula field located in the Santos Basin pre-salt area at water depths of up to 2,500 meters.

Technip will also provide related equipment for the pre-salt area to be installed on the floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) units Cidade de Angra dos Reis and Cidade de Ilhabela.

The gas injection top risers are designed for high internal pressure and will be manufactured, along with the majority of the equipment, at Flexibras Açu, Technip’s new flexible pipe manufacturing plant in Brazil. Production will start during Q1 2014, Technip said.

The remaining equipment will be manufactured at Flexibras Vitória, another manufacturing plant, while Technip’s operating centre in Rio de Janeiro will perform the engineering and project management.
