Total and Sonatrach extend their LNG partnership in Algeria

25th June 2020

Total and Sonatrach have signed an agreement to renew their partnership in the field of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Total and Sonatrach have signed an agreement renewing their partnership in the field of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

This agreement notably makes it possible to extend the supply of Algerian LNG to the French market for another 3 years. Deliveries of up to 2 million tonnes per year will be made as a priority to the LNG terminal at Fos Cavaou. The agreement also includes the sub-charter of a LNG tanker from Total by Sonatrach.

“ This agreement is part of the long history of cooperation between Total and Sonatrach. The quality of our relationship of trust made it possible to conclude in an extremely volatile market context. This new contract contributes to the flexibility of Total’s LNG portfolio and strengthens our position as a major partner of Sonatrach, ” said Laurent Vivier, Gas Director of Total.
