French company earns contract to work on Norwegian company’s offshore fields

Technip will provide flexible risers between 2014 and 2016 for several fields along the Norwegian Continental Shelf

Technip announced on Tuesday that it has been awarded a contract to fabricate and supply flexible risers for fields owned by Norwegian oil and gas major Statoil.

The French engineering and construction company will provide flexible risers between 2014 and 2016 for several fields along the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The company did not specify the value of the contract.

Technip has been sealing deals to work on projects including earning contracts with two BRIC countries. The company in September finalised a four year frame agreement with oil giant Petrobras to work for the project modification services for the company’s Rio de Janeiro Operations Unit.

In March, Technip and Rostec signed an agreement for the manufacture of offshore oil and gas equipment such as flexible pipes and umbilicals as well as the construction and renovation of refining and petrochemical units in Russia.
