Solstad Offshore lands new long-term contract with Petrobras

A Norwegian subsea and construction services company has entered into a new long-term contract valued at USD 56m with Petrobras for one its anchor handling (AHTS) vessels.
Solstad Offshore’s AHTS Normand Drott will work for Petrobras for an additional 4 years.
The new contract will commence in November 2013, after a scheduled drydocking.
The company has expanded and modernized its tonnage of AHTS vessels, particularly for use in deep waters.
Solstad Offshore has 9 vessels in operation in Brazilian waters, including Normand Drott that has been working for Petrobras since 2009.
The Solstad offshore fleet consists of 50 vessels, including platform supply vessels (PSV), AHTS vessels and construction service vessels (CSV). Two newbuilds will be delivered by 2014.
