Rosneft and CNPC executives discussed joint projects in seismic studies, exploration and hydrocarbon production
Cooperation between Russia and China's energy sectors was strengthened this week as Rosneft boss Igor Sechin held talks on Wednesday with CNPC management about joint exploration and production projects in the Arctic Seas as part of a working trip to Beijing.
The parties discussed prospects for implementation of joint projects in seismic studies, exploration and hydrocarbon production and signed a number of documents concerning mutual cooperation.
The blocks in question are those located in Barents and Pechora Seas (West Prinovozemelsky, Yuzhno-Russky and Medynsko-Varandeisky) as well as onshore blocks in Irkutsk region, Krasnoyarsk Kray and Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
