The seventh well on the MA oil and gas field in KG basin is expected to produce 1-3 mmscmd of gas

India’s Reliance Industries (RIL) has launched operations at the seventh well in the MA oil and gas field as part of its efforts to ramp up production from the KG-D6 block in the Krishna-Godavari (KG) basin, India PRwire reported on Tuesday.

The seventh well, MA-8, is expected to produce 1-3 million standard cubic meters per day (mmscmd) of gas and is claimed to have the potential to become the largest producing well at the KG-D6 block in the KG basin.

“The company is repairing a third of the wells shut down at the main D1 and D3 gas fields to increase output in the first quarter; hopefully by March,” the report quoted unnamed RIL sources as saying.

RIL already had plans to initiate a workover programme at three wells and invest more than USD 5bn to develop around 4trillion cubic feet (tcf) of discovered natural gas resources in the KG basin.
