M3 Sonar Software V1.4 features split-beam profiling and improved GeoTIFF export capabilities

Kongsberg Mesotech, a subsidiary of Kongsberg Maritime working in the underwater acoustic industry on Thursday announced the release of a new software to expand the use of its M3 multibeam sonar system.

 

The features of the M3 Sonar Software V1.4 include split-beam profiling,  improved GeoTIFF export capabilities, sonar head synchronisation and support for the company’s Echoview software.

 

The software expands the capabilities of the M3 Sonar in terms of application versatility and data interpretation, including marine engineering, environmental monitoring, as well as site inspection and clearance.

 

"This new software is an important milestone in the Company’s advancement in multibeam technology," said Colin Smith, Multibeam Product Manager. "We have recognized the needs of our customers and developed an innovative system that provides multiple operating modes for multiple applications in one sonar head."

 

The M3 is a multibeam sonar with imaging and profiling capabilities. It can detect small objects out to 150 meters with a 120° to 140° field of view that allows the operator to see the complete underwater picture in real-time.
