FLNG conference draws leading industry experts

09th January 2013

SMi Group’s inaugural FLNG conference takes place in London, UK, 13-14 February 2013

FLNG conference draws leading industry experts
The event will focus on updates of current FLNG projects, the current view of FLNG from major oil and gas companies, design structure and dynamics

The Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) business has been witnessing growth since 2005 and has now emerged as one of the leading destinations for oil and gas companies. Building on its strategic advantages of low cost, low price and ability to capitalise stranded reserves, FLNG developments are now set for a major boost after Shell’s Prelude and the recent announcement of two further projects being sanctioned.

Against this backdrop, on the 13-14 February SMi will be hosting an interactive two-day conference which will offer a comprehensive overview of the FLNG industry. The event will focus on updates of current FLNG projects, the current view of FLNG from major oil and gas companies, design structure and dynamics as well as contract and financial issues. It will bring together key leaders in the field to provide attendees with an in-depth look into current status of FLNG.

16 speakers from leading organisations will deliver case-studies and presentations to include Douglas Westwood, Gasol plc, Lloyds Register, Exclusive Analysis, Enagas S A, Sevan Marine ASA, SMBC Europe Division, Excelerate Energy and more. In addition on the 12 February there will be two interactive pre-conference workshops focusing on: The Advantage & Disadvantage of Floating Import Terminals (FSRUs) when Compared to Traditional Onshore Terminals and Understanding and Solving Critical Issues for the FLNG Industry.
