EIL awarded USD 139m contract to provide PMC and EPCM services for Dangote Group’s petroleum refinery plant in Nigeria

India’s state owned company Engineers India Limited (EIL) has received a contract worth approximately USD 139m to provide project management consultancy (PMC) and, engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services for implementing Dangote Group’s petroleum refinery and polypropylene plant in Nigeria. 

 

According to the agreement, EIL will offer PMC and EPCM services for construction of a crude distillation unit, single train residue fluid catalytic cracking unit, diesel hydro treating unit, CCR unit, alkylation unit, poly-propylene unit and utilities and offsite including captive power with other enabling infrastructure facilities. 

 

The petroleum refinery with a capacity of 20 million metric tonnes per annum (mmtpa)and a 600,000tonnes per annum polypropylene plant will be the largest ever single consultancy assignment for EIL.

 

According to The Hindu, EIL is also planning to join up with McNally Bharat Engineering (MBE), an Indian engineering company, for developing downstream oil and gas projects. EIL and MBE are expected to sign an agreement this month after receiving a green light from the boards of the respective companies.
