EAGE to host one of world’s largest multi-disciplinary geoscience events in Paris
It is the largest and most comprehensive multi-disciplinary geoscience event in the world. This year’s theme ‘Energy, technology, Sustainability – Time to open a new Chapter’ is particularly relevant. It invites the geoscience and engineering community to rise up and confront the industry’s challenges with ground-breaking technology and innovative techniques that help to create and unlock efficient and economic projects.
“Paris 2017 will focus on the latest developments relating to energies in the new world, the latest technologies and techniques in the oil and gas industry, the challenges of our current environment and the opportunities they present,” Kevin McLachlan, chairman, local advisory committee and SVP exploration Total, said. “This conference presents in itself an opportunity to tap into the knowledge, ideas and networks that are shaping our sector for tomorrow and its future sustainability.”
The event includes a large conference – in total over 1,000 technical oral and poster presentations – and workshops, short courses, fieldtrips and a technical exhibition presenting the latest developments in geophysics, geology and reservoir/petroleum engineering.
EAGE is a professional association for geoscientists and engineers. Founded in 1951, it is an organisation with a worldwide membership around 19,000 members, providing a global network of commercial and academic professionals. The association is truly multi-disciplinary and international in form and pursuits. All members of EAGE are professionally involved in, or studying, geophysics, petroleum exploration, geology, reservoir engineering, mining and civil engineering.
