Dolphin Geophysical to conduct 3D seismic survey in North Sea

Dolphin awarded North Sea 3D contract
The survey will be acquired by the high capacity 3D vessel M/V Polar Duke

Dolphin Geophysical has secured a 3D award from an undisclosed client in the North Sea. The survey will be acquired by the high capacity 3D vessel M/V Polar Duke, commencing in August for the duration of approximately five weeks.

"We now have a full backlog for the Summer Season", said Håvard Åsli, regional marketing and sales manager for North Europe, "with all of our vessels working in the North Sea region and busy into Q4".

Phil Suter, VP Marketing & Sales at Dolphin told OGT that the Polar Duke would conduct the survey using the company's recently released OpenCPS 3.0 software platform, which delivers production seismic data processing for land and marine data. The 3.0 release brings processing capabilities such as field QC and PSTM imaging.

"All of our vessles have the OpenCPS software platform, which we mostly use to conduct fasttrack processing of seismic data," Sutter told OGT.
