CIMC Raffles Offshore Limited (CIMC Raffles), a Chinese offshore rig builder, has secured an order for two jack-up rigs from Central Shipping Monaco (CSM), an offshore drilling and ship management company, as part of CSM’s expansion plans, CIMC Raffles said in a written statement on Friday.

CIMC Raffles will build CSM two Friede & Goldman (F&G) JU2000E jack-up drilling rigs. The F&G rigs can operate in water depths of 400 feet and drill down to 35,000 feet. Both systems are equipped with a BLM jacking system and an Aker drilling package. They are designed to operate in waters in the Gulf of Mexico, Middle East, North Britain, as well as West and East Africa.

The two rigs are scheduled for delivery in late 2015, following plans by CSM to “expand its business in future years," CIMC Raffles said. The Monaco company has options to build up to another 4 similar jackup rigs with CIMC Raffles.
