Brazil: 66 bidders for 11th oil and gas auction – update
The 11th round is scheduled for 14-15 May and will have a total number of 289 oil and gas blocks

Brazil’s oil and gas watchdog ANP has upgraded the status of two oil companies for the much anticipated 11th round of auction of oil and gas exploration concessions to take place in the country next month.

Brasoil Manati Exploracao Petrolifera Ltda and Gran Tierra Energy do Brasil Ltda, the local unit of Calgary-based Gran Tierra Energy have had their status upgraded after being approved earlier this month, ANP said in a written statement on Friday. This brings the total number of oil and gas firms approved for the auction to 66, out of 71 which initially submitted their applications.

The 11th round is scheduled for 14-15 May and will have a total number of 289 oil and gas blocks.  Some USD 500m in revenue are expected from the upcoming auction, ANP director Magda Chambriard said in February.
