BG Group to complete global technology centre in Brazil in 2014

British multinational oil and gas company BG Group will complete construction of a global technology centre in Brazil in mid-2014.
With this research facility, BG Group aims to centralise all of it research and development activities worldwide. The centre will focus on R&D to provide solutions for the company and the industry’s present and future technology needs.
BG Group is developing oil and gas reserves offshore Brazil in the pre-salt Santos Basin. By 2025, BG Group will have invested an estimated USD 1.5-2bn in research and development in Brazil.
“The global technology centre will provide us with the opportunity to work closely with Brazilian-based technology partners in a visible and world-class research and development centre,” said chief executive Chris Finlayson earlier this year during a ceremony marking the beginning of the centre’s construction in the technology park at IIha do Fundão, Rio de Janeiro.
