Ecom instruments, global market leader and fullservice provider in the field of portable explosionprotected equipment, together with the wellknown manufacturer Fluke, have developed and produced a comprehensive product offering for all measurement and calibration activities in Ex Zone 1/21, Class I, Division 1 and 2/22, Division 2.

All approved Fluke products can therefore be modified for use in hazardous areas.

These rugged devices allow all common measurement methods and calibrations to be obtained during daily maintenance checks Ex Zone 1/21, Class I, Division 1 and 2/22, Division 2.

Thanks to the international certifications, all devices are available for use worldwide.

During day to day work, various test methods are used to ensure ideal working conditions. The stated goal is to avoid costintensive stoppages or malfunctions by performing cyclical checks and planned or targeted shutdowns. In order to detect any damage to engines and conveyors during the current procedures, technicians can use devices such as the Fluke 28 iiEx. Using this ultrarugged tool from ecom, workers can take quick and accurate measurements while in hazardous areas.

This multimeter is waterproof and dirt resistant and can even survive drop of 3 meters height. With this device, a worker can test sensors, measurement equipment, electrical currents, voltages and resistance while on the move. Plants designedfor the storage and manufacturing of hazardous materials need to be checked for functionality and security. For the production of silicon in the electronics industry, for example, material and equipment temperature must be checked regularly.

The Fluke 568Ex, a modified infrared measurement tool for Ex Zone 1/21, Class I, Division 1 and 2/22, Division 2 is developed by ecom for measuring the temperature of liquid and hard material, even from distance. Furthermore, control cabinets and ovens need to be checked for hotspots to do preventive maintenance work, to guarantee a save production and working environment.

The broad applications of the measurement and calibration product family are extended across all industry sectors where hazardous areas can be found, whether in the chemical and petrochemical industry, pharmaceutical industry, oil and gas production, mining, energy and the environmental industry. Using preventive maintenance equipment, tasks can be carried out with an increased ease and comfort. Even places which are hard to reach like high mounted pipelines or even liquid materials can be measured precisely. Sensors and transmitters can be calibrated within cyclical controls and with a simulation option, they can be tested for accuracy and functionality.
