Gazprom and the regional government of Bashkortostan in the Russian Federation have signed a supplementary agreement of cooperation to set up a chemical engineering centre in the region

The agreement will focus on designing a project for developing the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat capacities required for enhancing raw gas condensate and oil processing

The document provides for setting up a chemical engineering centre in Bashkortostan. It will mainly focus on designing a project for developing the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat capacities required for enhancing raw gas condensate and oil processing as well as boosting output.

In addition, the agreement envisages establishing in the region a company for assembling, repairing, testing and servicing gas turbine engines. It will be set up with the participation of Gazprom, Ufa Motor Construction Production Association and the government of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The document also reflects the parties' intention to cooperate in constructing and repairing heat generation facilities, securing environmental safety and rational use of natural resources, training personnel for gas, oil refining and petrochemical industry as well as implementing social programs and cultural projects in the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The agreement was signed at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum 2014.
